What is MSME / Udyam Registration?
The Udyam Registration (formerly MSME Registration / Udyog Aadhaar) is a government certificate issued under the MSMED Act, 2006 by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Since 1 July 2020, the Government of India replaced all old MSME and Udyog Aadhaar registrations with the new Udyam Registration system on udyamregistration.gov.in.
An enterprise registered under Udyam receives a unique Udyam Registration Number (URN) and a printable Udyam Certificate, which is valid for a lifetime and gives access to priority sector loans, government subsidies, lower electricity tariffs, and GeM portal selling.
